Papillon,butterfly

Papillon Daffodils are butterfly shaped and a sub division of split-corana daffodils  and are defined as narcissi with the corona segments alternate to the perianth segments; the corona segments usually in a single whorl of six.

Papillon group daffodils are bulbs that have been bred to create unusual and often spectacular blooms featuring trumpets that are ‘split’ into their six natural lobes and spread back across the petals. These are invariably frilly or ruffled blooms, bold, yet delicate in appearance with many having contrasting colours to increase floral impact.

Since 1958 only 35 Daffodil varieties have been registered in the Papillon group. This is a special division of butterfly shaped split-corana daffodils
